There’s nothing like exploring the beautiful San Juan Islands from the water. Boating enthusiasts will love tying up to the private 50 foot float in the “backyard” of Afterglow Cottage. There are lights and 30 AMP shore power available, even a lighted ramp from the shore.

The atmosphere of Afterglow Cottage is low-key and unpretentious. Kick off your shoes and sink into an oversize leather chair to read a book, play cards, or just relax in the hot tub above the tranquil waters of Neil Bay. If you must check in to the world, WIFI makes it easy. When it’s time for dinner, you’ll find a nicely provisioned kitchen and a gas BBQ available (or maybe you’ll enjoy fresh seafood if you’ve dropped a crab pot earlier in the day?) When the day’s activities are over, you’ll sleep easy on Select Comfort mattresses.

Afterglow Cottage has access to a private strip of beach (known to locals as the isthmus) a good spot to birdwatch, observe boat traffic, or just sit on a log and enjoy the glow of the spectacular sunsets. Neil Bay is a quiet and peaceful waterfront neighborhood, but it’s only a 20 minute walk to all the Roche Harbor Resort amenities, which include an airstrip, post office, market, gas station, sculpture park, shops, artist kiosks, spa, bar, café, and fine dining.

NOTE: Portions of Neil Bay can go shallow. Be sure to check tide charts and plan accordingly if you are arriving or departing by boat.
